amfAR Fundraising Gala

The German beauty stepped out in New York, wearing an Elie Sabb cotton blend lace dress last night to the amfAR fundraising gala. We personally feel the sleeves can look a little older on an evening gown?

What do you think?

Troxy Birthday Celebration

This is one of our fullest ball-gowns. layered with masses of orange tulle and a detailed red embellished bodice halter-neck. Doesn’t Sandra look picture perfect in it?!

I enjoyed visiting One Night Stand. It was a lot of fun trying on different dresses that I would never normally dare to wear.. And I did feel glamorous during the party itself.

It’s also great not to have to find more closet space for a dress which, lovely as it is, I would only ever wear a couple of times in a lifetime!

City Ball

Jess is here again, wearing a very sexy, low back, high neck, with flesh coloured inserts, to a City Ball.

There is no surprise why this is a very sort after dress!

Prom Time

Dovile decided to go short for her prom last summer. Her outfit is very demure, the setting is very Jane Austen, plus she takes a cracking photo.

Warwick Racecourse

Emma (left) hired our incredible strapless, tulle fishtail, heavily encrusted gown for her cousin’s 18th birthday party.

They had the whole of Warwick Racecourse for the occasion. That sure is something to dress to the high 9’s for!

Elton John Ball

This is the charming Brenda. She was invited last week to Elton John’s prestigious annual summer ball, held in Windsor, where money is raised for Elton’s AIDS Foundation.

She looks an absolute knock-out in our navy heavy jersey, capped shoulder, floor length gown.

Pretty in Red

This looker of a lady is wearing our favourite silk, tight fitting, deep red cocktail dress to a dinner.

Classic design, yet very elegant and ladylike, just like our Alex.

Natalie Pinkham

Here’s the gorgeous Natalie Pinkham, wearing one of our gowns to the Jaguar Academy Of Sport Annual Awards, earlier this year.

A few kind words from her to us.

“One Night Stand has a wonderful collection of dresses and jewellery, you are guaranteed to find the perfect frock for a special occasion. They are very friendly and helpful with styling tips. Plus the resident cat Yoda always loves a cuddle!

If you want it specific to the Jaguar Awards…

I wanted something stylish but comfortable and at ONS I fell in love with a number of dresses but ultimately went for this one…which fitted like a glove

High School Prom

Check out this gorgeous young thing! This lovely lady had her school prom to attend and hired this gown for it.

She informed us that she won second best for her gown too, which of course we don’t doubt, as she looks absolutely knock out here.

Belle of the Ball

Our beautiful client, Rachel (right) had her annual awards ceremony with work to attend earlier this month.

She’s full of confidence and not afraid to go glamorous. We decided on the full length gold strapless dress would be ideal.. next time round I’m sure she’ll be back to hire something even more elaborate.

Night at the V&A

Anna, (on the left in the picture) hired this black and gold lace top with embellishment, and then accessorised it with this tulle black scarf for the evening – how very formal they all look!

Winter Sparkle!

This lovely group pictured here, attended Emma’s 18th, (2nd from the left) at the Hurlingham in December just gone. The theme was Winter Sparkle, and don’t they all look magnificent?

Carol, Emma’s mum, (pictured on the left) wore an evening gown from us in navy and lace, full length. She couldn’t have looked more perfect in my opinion!

BAFTA Awards – treat yourself: why not hire a beautiful evening gown, instead?

So, you’ve got the coveted invite to the BAFTA’s,  only a matter of weeks away. If it’s not a gleeful “yippee a chance to show off my Valentino” it may be that panicky feeling: ‘Oh, what am I going to wear?’ We all get that feeling don’t we? You might go shopping for something in a rush, repenting later or you could come and rent one of our perfect evening dresses.

We’ve been styling nominees and guests for over 30 years and are expert in dressing you up. It’s a long evening, so as well as looking the part in an outfit you can comfortably sit in you’ll need comfortable shoes too!

Tip: you might need a colourful, possibly jewelled wrap to keep you warm also.

Christmas time – ways to stay covered up at formal events

December brings more formal events than at any other time of the year.

Christmas time – ways to stay covered up at formal events

There’s a plethora of black tie Army and Navy dinners, where your shoulders must be covered as you dine. We advise using a shrug, or even a shawl in a light fabric such as tulle or chiffon, it’ll also stay put whilst you eat!

Alternatively, why not fix it in place with a small diamond broach, this will add some colour and light to the wrap.
